Yuma Bridge

Ocean to Ocean Bridge

The Ocean To Ocean Bridge is a through truss bridge spanning the Colorado River at Yuma Crossing that was completed in 1915 as part of the Ocean to Ocean Highway that ran from New York City to Los Angeles. It is now part of historic Arizona Highway 80.

The bridge received partial funding from The Office of Indian Affairs as the bridge connected Yuma with the Fort Yuma Reservation.

The Yuma Crossing was created by granite outcrop that caused a natural narrowing of the river. It had been a popular crossing site for centuries before the construction of the bridge.
